FPOA Scholarship Program

Be an unmarried dependent child or dependent grandchild of an active or retired member of the FPOA, in good standing, or the unmarried child of a deceased member of the FPOA.

Have achieved a minimum GRADE POINT AVERAGE OF 2.5* (based on a maximum 4.0 system), as evidenced by TRANSCRIPTS SUBMITTED WITH THE APPLICATION.* The Fresno Police Officers Association will only accept applications for scholarship consideration with a transcript based on a traditional Grade Point Average (GPA) rather than a weighted GPA. This will be evidenced by documents that include assigned letter grades for completed classes and a corresponding Grade Point Average. A “Pass/Fail” or “Class-Completed Satisfactorily” will not be accepted. There is no current method to compare these types of “Non-Letter Scoring/Evaluation Systems” to weigh them against traditional GPA’s.

(a). Graduating high school seniors must submit their high school transcripts covering through the Fall, 2026 semester. (Do not wait to include Spring, 2027).

(b). College students who have completed less than 24 units of college work must submit BOTH “High School” AND “College” transcripts to date.

(c). College students who have completed 24 or more college units need only submit college transcripts covering all college work to date.

(d). Transcripts do not need to be certified.

Be enrolling in the Fall of 2027 for either full-time (12 or more units) of undergraduate college study, or in an accredited vocational school (Scholarships will not be awarded for postgraduate studies, or more than four times for any one applicant).

(a). Applicants will be required to provide proof of registration or participation before the scholarships will be provided, but do not need to submit it with the application.
